2020: Half Way There
In 2003, Eastbridge published a report filled with our predictions on how the benefits business and specifically the voluntary business might look in the year 2020. The goal of the report was to present one view (ours) of the future world and to generate thought by others in the industry. Seven years later and half way to 2020, many of these predictions—especially in the area of distribution—are already coming to fruition.
2020: Half Way There looks at trends that have shaped our business over the past seven years and those which will shape it over the next 10. It also defines a new set of predictions going forward until the year 2020. Our goal is to have you create a vision of your future based on the “big picture” trends going on in the industry as opposed to just extrapolating from one year to the next. Only then can you take the appropriate steps to prepare for the planned future.
Our objective is to stimulate your thinking around key issues and trends that may impact your business. The measure of the report’s success is not whether you agree with or even if our predictions are accurate, but the degree to which you are stimulated to think about new possibilities and strategies.
