Eastbridge Recognizes CIGNA and Wellpoint as the 2010 Voluntary Sales Growth Leaders

Voluntary sales in 2010 were $5.243 billion, down about three percent compared to 2009, according to Eastbridge’s annual U.S. Worksite Sales Report. But not all companies saw a decrease; in fact, the number of companies with an increase exceeded the number with decreases.

“Annually, we recognize those companies that led the industry in voluntary sales growth,” says Gil Lowerre, president of Eastbridge. “This year, among large companies ($30+ million in voluntary sales), CIGNA was the fastest growing company based on voluntary sales. And in the small category (less than $30 million in voluntary sales), Wellpoint was the fastest growing company.” CIGNA has surpassed the industry averages for three consecutive years and Wellpoint has consistently increased sales over the last four years.

All companies participating in Eastbridge’s annual U.S. Worksite Sales Report are eligible to win the Sales Growth Leader recognition. To make the list for consideration, a company must have exceeded the growth rate of the industry as a whole for each of the last three years and lead in 2010 sales growth.

“Eastbridge would like to congratulate both companies for a job well done,” adds Lowerre. “It’s not easy in today’s market to achieve that level of success.”
