Voluntary Benefits in an ACA World: How are Carriers and Brokers Adapting?

Cost: $2,000; published 2015

Over the years, much has been written about how health care reform is changing the benefits market. Eastbridge also conducted several surveys on the topic, particularly the impact on voluntary products and sales. The most recent report, Voluntary Benefits in an ACA World: How are Carriers and Brokers Adapting?, updates the last survey conducted several years ago by looking more closely at how the voluntary market has been impacted thus far and where it is headed as the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marches onward.

This year’s report also includes feedback from brokers on health care reform and ACA in addition to the carriers’ perspective. Specifically the report looks at ACA’s impact on:

  • Voluntary sales overall
  • Existing voluntary products
  • Changes or additions to carrier voluntary product portfolios
  • Private exchange strategy and activities
  • Broker roles and how they might change in the future due to ACA and exchanges
  • Defined contribution model strategy and activities

Carriers and brokers can use this information to determine how the changes and adaptations they are making regarding ACA compare to how other carriers and brokers are responding.
